Things To Do

We love the small town charm of Carmel-by-the-Sea and the beauty of Pebble Beach with the most amazing coastline in all of California.

We go as often as possible and enjoy these activities when spending time our magical getaway place.

Our Top Three Favorites

Carmel’s Scenic Drive

We love to take long walks along the beautiful pathway along Carmel’s dog friendly, leash free beach where dogs play and plein air painters capture the scenery. If you walk far enough to the end you will find the magical Carmel River cove where otters and dolphins swim.

Carmel-by-the-Sea Village

Walk into the quaint village of Carmel and experience unique shopping, fun dining spots, and meeting new people and dogs.

Carmel Beach

We have spent many sunsets on “our bench” along the pathway of Carmel Beach enjoying the most amazing and colorful sunsets you will ever see! The sunset skies last forever and are always a unique vision of "God’s finger painting”.

Other Activities We Love

Scenic 17 Mile Drive, Pebble Beach

Follow 17-Mile Drive’s enchanting world full of dramatic coastal cliffs, snow-white beaches, mystical forests and iconic golf courses. We recommend stopping for lunch at The Bench, located at the 18th hole of Pebble Beach Golf Links, or visiting The Market at The Lodge, and having a picnic lunch at Fanshell Beach.

English Tea at The Tuck Box

A charming cottage located in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, the Tuck Box serves breakfast and lunch, always with your choice of English teas, and the traditional British comfort foods such as scones.

Big Sur

Take a drive down the coast to Big Sur over the Bixby Bridge and spend the afternoon. It's as magnificent as you've heard, with majestic hiking trails at Andrew Molera State Park and Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. Afterwards, linger at breathtaking hillside restaurants with panoramic ocean views, such as Nepenthe, Ventana Inn, or the Post Ranch Inn.

Carmel Valley

Warm and sunny Carmel Valley Village is just 11 miles inland from Carmel-by-the-Sea, and world away. Carmel Valley offers great hiking, wine tasting, golfing & fun al fresco dining experiences such at restaurants like Corkscrew Cafe & Cafe Rustica.
